A day at Disneyland is filled with fun rides and attractions, but the park also offers some delicious eats that make for an unforgettable experience in Disneyland.
There are a few must-eat items that everyone conjures up when they think of Disney, but there are plenty of great dishes that fly just under the radar or are hidden off the main tourist drag. Here are 8 of the best food choices at Disneyland.

1.Plaza Inn
Located in the heart of Main Street USA, Plaza Inn offers an old-fashioned dining experience for guests looking to dine on American classics. The restaurant serves as a cafeteria-style eatery during lunch and dinner hours.
It also serves as a character breakfast location during the morning. For breakfast, Plaza Inn features a buffet filled with Mickey waffles, pancakes, and omelet stations.
This character meal experience is a fantastic way to meet a variety of characters and interact with them without waiting in long lines. The cost is reasonable and it’s a great addition to any Disney vacation!
This is a very popular restaurant and it can be difficult to get reservations. The best days to make a reservation are on a Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday before the park opens.
2.Red Rose Taverne
In the heart of Fantasyland, Disneyland guests will find the charming quick service spot Red Rose Taverne. Originally opened as a temporary overlay of Village Haus to promote the live action Beauty and the Beast film, this is now its own full-fledged restaurant serving up counter service classics.
This eatery offers French cuisine influenced by the animated film and its upcoming live-action sequel, Beauty and the Beast. Its theming is fantastic, with stained glass murals that tell the story and Mrs. Potts and her little cups to be found on a shelf, among other details.
The menu has some great items, including the Beast’s Burger and Enchanted Cauliflower Sandwich. These entrees are a must-try while you’re in the area.
The desserts also are great, especially the Lemon Rose Cake and Grey Stuff Gateau. The Lemon Rose Cake is a delicate lemon cake with strawberry-rose filling, and the Grey Stuff Gateau has white chocolate mousse “grey stuff” on top of red velvet cake with a raspberry center.
3.Blue Bayou Restaurant
Located in Disneyland’s New Orleans Square, Blue Bayou Restaurant is one of the most highly regarded restaurants in the park. Known for its Cajun-influenced food, this upscale eatery features Louisiana-inspired cuisine, and serves lunch and dinner.
The menu is filled with Cajun and Creole dishes, including a Monte Cristo sandwich. There are also steaks and seafood entrees to choose from.
This is a great option for those who like to eat with their families, as the menu includes plenty of kid-friendly options. You can split meals for two or more people, and there are also a few items that are suitable for vegetarians.
For the best views, be sure to ask for a table along the water! This is a one-of-a-kind dining experience, so it’s important to book your spot in advance.
Blue Bayou has also recently become the first sit-down restaurant in Disneyland to offer alcohol. Previously, the only place you could find alcohol inside the Park was Club 33 and Oga’s Cantina at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. But now, you can order wine, beer or a Hurricane cocktail at Blue Bayou!
4.The Tropical Hideaway
The newly opened Tropical Hideaway offers a waterfront respite for guests who want to take in a tropical menu of sweet and savory treats. The eatery is wedged between the classic Enchanted Tiki Room and Jungle Cruise in Adventureland.
The restaurant’s design evokes a bustling marketplace filled with traders’ stalls. It also features a thatched roof Tiki Room that adorns two sides of the seating area.
Located between Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room and the Jungle Cruise, it is accessible by ramp from the Tiki Room’s exit or along “Skipper’s Walk,” a path that leads to Jungle Cruise’s loading dock.
It is home to colorful wildlife, including a talking bird named Rosita who lives in a small birdhouse on the roofline. In addition, it is where guests can enjoy several new Dole Whip flavors (including orange and raspberry) and a variety of other snacks.
The dessert options are also unique, including an orange-pineapple swirl sundae topped with pineapple and coconut shreds, crystallized hibiscus, and cookie sticks. The menu also includes a sweet lumpia, which is a Filipino dish usually filled with meat or vegetables.
5.Storytellers Cafe
Celebrate California folklore at this buffet restaurant in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. This dining location features a cozy Craftsman-style decor and a wood-burning fireplace.
Guests enter the restaurant through a large mural, surrounded by wooden artisan-style detailing. The area is adorned with a variety of artifacts and symbols from the state’s history.
For breakfast and brunch, Storytellers Cafe serves croissants, muffins, danishes, fruits, Mickey waffles, egg white frittatas, chile verde chilaquiles, hand-carved meats, and beignets. Agua fresca, fresh juices, and coffee are also available.
Character breakfast and brunch are the most popular menu items at Storytellers Cafe, but they’re also open for dinner and have a buffet. The menu includes roasted chicken, seasonal fish, small plates, pasta, prime rib, and plant-based options.
6.Lamplight Lounge
Located inside of the recently revamped Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Park, Lamplight Lounge is a must-visit dining spot. This chic pixar themed restaurant replaced Cove Bar and Ariel’s Grotto in June 2018.
Guests will enjoy the causal, yet elegant atmosphere of this seaside eatery as well as beautiful views of the Pier. The eatery will offer a delicious array of starters, sides, entrees and signature cocktails.
The food at Lamplight Lounge is great for all ages and the prices are reasonable. There are plenty of options on the menu for those with food allergies, as well as a kids’ menu.
There is also an extensive drink menu including many fun names inspired by Pixar movies. The drinks are not too over-the-top, but they are fun to sip and a great way to relax and unwind at the end of a long day at Disneyland.
The downstairs level of the restaurant does take reservations but walk-ins are welcome. This area of the restaurant has a more extensive food menu as well as some desserts such as fluffy donuts.
7.Earl of Sandwich
A cult favorite among Disney fans, Earl of Sandwich is a quick service restaurant that has locations in Disneyland, California and Disneyland Paris. It also has locations in airports around the world, and is a popular spot for foodies looking for a cheap and tasty lunch on the go.
The sandwiches are incredibly popular, with a cult following for its inventive Holiday Turkey Sandwich. It’s a mash-up of turkey, bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, and tomato with turkey gravy that has earned a loyal fan base.
Earl of Sandwich also offers breakfast until 11:00 AM, and a variety of sides to go with your sandwich. You can even get a combo that includes a regular fountain drink and a side for $4.99, or a premium combination for $5.99.
The restaurant is a popular quick-service destination for both Guests and park employees, with its location right at the entrance to Downtown Disney. It serves hot sandwiches and grab-and-go fare, and is set to debut a new table-service eatery called Earl of Sandwich Tavern soon.
8.Turkey Leg Cart
The Magic Kingdom’s legendary smoked turkey legs have earned a cult following, becoming, for many, as iconic as Mickey Mouse ears. And with a fanfare that includes T-shirts, air fresheners, and even turkey leg Rice Krispie treats, it’s no wonder this snack is one of the park’s most popular concessions.
While they’re not the healthiest food on offer, they are a fun treat to enjoy while walking around the park and make for a filling lunch on the go! These jumbo drumsticks are served in a piping hot food bag and can be purchased at carts across the park.
Currently, they can be found in Adventureland at Liberty Square Market and Fantasyland at Prince Eric’s Village Market and Gaston’s Tavern. Prices vary and may change based on season.
